In July 2011 we spent 8 nights at this lovely villa. Not a modern villa but loads of charm and all modern conveniences - it was thoughtfully and well equipped. Bedrooms were spacious and worked well for 4 adults. Great size pool and lovely views. It was good to have internet so that we could research places to visit, restaurants etc. The owner, Javier was very helpful from the first enquiry and was available throughout. It was obvious to see why others have returned time and time again because of the personal service. The generous welcome pack meant that we did not have to shop immediately.
The villa has a number of sitting areas, inside and out – we made use of the outside areas for all meals. There is a large supermarket - edge of Nerja with parking – we only did one large shop then used smaller central supermarkets for fresh bread, fruit and milk. Eating out in Nerja was typically Spanish – basic and aimed at tourists but lots of choice – we only tried 2 restaurants so had limited experience. Did tapas once and enjoyed this. We found eating in hilltop Frigiliana much better – easy to reach from the villa - enjoying a fabulous Moroccan-Spanish meal and excellent service at scenic El Mirador. Both towns are worth exploring and still feel Spanish. We would certainly return to this area in preference to South of Malaga or further up the coast. This area enjoys mountain views and our trip to Granada was well worth it.
Beaches at Nerja are several and all are gritty sand which I experienced best with footwear, though others were playing sport with bare feet. Kids might prefer the sandals that stay on in the water. Playa Burriana was the largest beach near the town centre with plenty of free parking - though arrive early in peak season. Pair of sunbeds with shade cost about 8 - 10 Euro for the day. We did not find wine and coffee expensive in Nerja and were pleasantly surprised at the cost of everything compared to say the UK, Italy or Cyprus.
All in all a great villa in a great location.
Best wishes

We spent a wonderful week in the Arcos de la Almona in the second half of November. We enjoyed the beauty of the view over the valley from the deck, the atmosphere of the house and the charms of the old village of Frigiliana. Javier and Rosario were wonderful hosts and this is certainly a place to return to and to recommend friends to go to.

Javier & Rosario we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hazilla de Raya, your villa has lovely views and your garden is beautiful, and so peaceful. And we were so lucky with the weather!!!
We are sorry but in the rush of the early morning, we forgot to write anything in your Visitors Book, which we had put up on top of the unit, too keep small fingers away from it !!!
Again, just to say we thorough enjoyed our stay at Hazilla de Raya and Thank You.
Kind Regards
