This small, welcoming cottage is in Cortijos de San Rafael, between the popular seaside resort of Nerja and the unspoilt village of Frigiliana. It is within easy reach of the MA-5105..
The entrance to the house is via a spacious, sunny patio which is made of hand-crafted bricks. It is full of flowerpots and there is a little garden on the right hand side. The wooden door (which is painted blue to match the window frames for a truly Mediterranean feel) leads to the dining room, kitchen, lounge and bathroom. The dining room, with its table and four chairs, has views of the patio at the entrance. In the lounge there is a comfortable sofa, a practical, comfortable armchair, a coffee table and a sideboard with the TV (with channels in English & Spanish), DVD & CD/radio (with a selection of films and music . There is also a wood-burning stove. Through a glass door is a large terrace which is covered by a pergola and has fine views towards the sea, the countryside and the mountains. The terrace’s position is fantastic both for summer and winter. On the terrace there is a table, four chairs and a portable barbeque. The main bedroom has a double bed with bedside tables, a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bed is of particular interest with its original headboard, created by a local artist using iron forged by hand, wood and precious stones. Light streams in through the window which looks out onto a private area on the outside of the house with an old carob tree (which is a protected species native to the area). The main bedroom leads on to a second bedroom which has two single beds and a bedside table in the middle, a large wardrobe and a book case with books in English and Spanish. We’d like to emphasize that the second bedroom is only accessible via the main bedroom which makes Dachita especially suitable for parents with children. The window in the second bedroom has a similar view to that of the main bedroom. The practical and well-equipped kitchen consists of a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, mini oven, butane gas hob, kettle, coffee machine , iron and ironing board, extractor hood, smoke detector, juicer and everything you need for your holiday enjoyment. The bathroom, which is decorated with hand finished tiles, consists of a wash basin, toilet and shower (and a hair drier). The water is heated by solar panels. The washing machine is outside in a small room under the stairs leading up to the upper terrace. On this terrace is the pool (6m x 3m x 1.4/1.8 deep). At the end of the pool there is a beautiful hand- made mosaic which has been created by a local artist. Its theme and its name is SOL (sun). The outdoor furniture consists of sun loungers with cushions, a table and a large sun shade. Dachita also has air conditioning (cold & hot), a safe, and broadband internet access (for customers who bring their own lap top) at no extra charge. In addition our customers have a designated private parking space.Â

Weekend ( 21 until 23 November 2008 )
Under a few temperatures aproxx. of 24 º, and with a blue sky usual, this weekend Rosario and I, we have taken as every year, the aceitunas ( olives ) of our field in La Reserva and El Torin. We have received of several clients and friends e-mails, to near the low temperatures of this weekend in enclosed U.K. with snow in their gardens. It is difficult to imagine that to only 3hours flight , we have been with our summer clothes.
