In the area known as Cortijos San Rafael, between Nerja and Frigiliana, and only 300 metres from the MA-5105 which links these two towns, we will take the Camino de la Maquinilla, until we reach the first turning on the right known as Mirador de los Almachares, and at number 3 we will find Hazilla de Raya.
In the area known as Cortijos San Rafael, conveniently positioned between the popular seaside resort of Nerja and the unspoilt Andalusian village of Frigiliana, Hazilla de Raya awaits you. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens and terraces. A magnificent carob tree (Algarrobo) which is more than one hundred years old and is even protected by a preservation order, marks the entrance and shades the private car park. The main entrance to the house is up some wide steps which lead to an original arched door. From here we reach the well proportioned lounge-diner, with its fireplace in the centre of the room. The lounge, with its views of the sea and the mountains, has a great amount of natural light. The dining area has nice views of the garden. The lounge consists of 2 sofas, 2 armchairs, a library with a wide selection of books & catalogues (including many on art) T.V. (with channels in English & Spanish), DVD and CD/Radio (with a variety of films and music) The dining room has a good-sized table, 4 chairs and various other rustic pieces of furniture. A large original painting by a local artist hangs on the dining room wall (nearly all the pictures in Hazilla de Raya are original works of art). In the area opposite the lounge is a doorway to the kitchen. From here there are also views of and direct access to the barbeque area, garden and swimming pool. The kitchen is fully equipped with a vitro-ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, juicer, toaster, coffee machine & mixer (iron & ironing board). The washing machine is in an outhouse. On another level (3 steps up) are the two generously sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The twin room (with views onto one of the patios in the garden) consists of two single beds each with a bedside table, a large wardrobe and an armchair. Opposite the bedroom door is a bathroom which is fully equipped with a bath, wash basin, toilet, bidet and hairdrier. Hot water for the house is generated by solar panels. The master bedroom is spacious and has its own en suite shower room with shower, washbasin and toilet. This bedroom is furnished with a double bed with bedside tables, a large wardrobe, chest of drawers, a dressing table and an armchair. There are numerous original paintings decorating the walls. The views of the sea and the Frigiliana mountain range from this bedroom are spectacular, especially when you step out through the patio doors onto the master bedroom’s own terrace. The house has heating and air conditioning and is fitted with smoke detectors, a safe and has broad band internet access (for customers bringing their own lap top) at no extra charge. The garden which surrounds the house is designed on different levels . In addition to the large lawn there are an abundance of plants and flowers which are native to the region of AxarquÃa de Málaga and its province, and different parts of Andalusia. The spacious pool area has a large pool (9m x 4m x 1.4m/1.8m) which is totally private, enjoys panoramic views of the sea, Frigiliana and the Sierra Almijara and its National Park and an avocado plantation which belongs to the property. All this adds up to a peaceful , restful place to spend your holidays. Next to the pool there is a great built-in barbeque and dining area under a pergola covered by an enormous bougainvillea and a beautiful begonia which shade the area from direct sun.  Nearby there is a small raised pond with goldfish and aquatic plants. If you love plants, you’ll never forget Hazilla de Raya’s garden
